The Great Fall

by Ananda Vrindavan devi dasi

           --------

I watch the trees and

marvel at the tumbling leaves

now dancing on the gravel path

romanced by the wind.

I love all seasons but especially Fall

It cannot but stir feelings in the heart

and if you have Krishna in your heart

or wish Him to be there

then the dancing leaves

shining in the sunlight

dazzling, delicate, fluttering

swirling, twirling, softly landing

can bring you to feel

the spirit of love

for the One who has orchestrated

this autumn performance.

Then, as the poet Nye says,

“Walk around like a leaf.

Know you could tumble at any second.

Then decide what to do with your time.”
